My boy…okay…OUR boy makes his professional debut today. Lance McCullers Jr., the 41st overall pick in the 2012 MLB draft takes the mound at Minute Maid Park in an Astros jersey for the first time in his career.
McCullers made it to Houston after throwing 29 innings at the AA level, where he amassed a 0.62 ERA and 43 strikeouts while allowing just 11 walks. A straight-up dominant start of the season for a 21-year old that many questioned where he would end up (starter or reliever) over the offseason.
I think all Astros fans are excited for tonight’s debut, though I think some may believe it’s a bit too soon.
