NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Astros have a small army of young players and prospects they could trade. That makes parting with one or two or however many such players it takes to upgrade the team easier to stomach, if that’s the route they choose.
Their pursuit of relievers seems to center on the trade market.
“We prefer to keep our young players, but we also realize that our position in order to improve our team we can either do it through free agency, spending dollars or our player currency,” general manager Jeff Luhnow said Monday. “We’re fortunate to have, we have a system that has a lot of depth.
