I don’t mean to be swerving into Jimmy’s lane here at TCB. But it seems like the Astros’ AAA prospects are more relevant than ever for those following the major league team.
The Astros already are getting contributions from prospects Joey Loperfido, Trey Cabbage, Spencer Arrighetti, and Shawn Dubin, all of whom started the season at Sugar Land. As trade season approaches, it’s helpful to know more about the prospects, both because they could be included in trades and because they tell us something about whom might help the Astros soon. Furthermore, in about a month and a half, the Astros may call up a prospect or two when the roster is expanded.
