SEATTLE — Astros catcher Hank Conger was on the Angels last season, a team that includes many of the same stars he played alongside.
Catapulting themselves into the playoff race, the Halos have rattled off seven straight wins, and entering Wednesday, carried a half game advantage over the Astros for the second wild-card spot.
“They have a very good veteran presence over there,” Conger said of his old club. “Obviously Albert (Pujols) and (Jered) Weaver, a lot of guys who have been in that situation. I think when time comes around they understand what they need to do.
