OAKLAND -- With All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve set to begin a Minor League rehab assignment Sunday for Triple-A Fresno, manager AJ Hinch said the team's best hitter could return to the Astros' lineup as early as next week in Seattle.
Altuve, who has been out since July 25 with a sore right knee, said Saturday his knee felt good following Friday's rigorous workout at Oakland Coliseum. He was scheduled to fly to Seattle on Saturday and lead off for the Grizzlies on Sunday in Tacoma and get three or four at-bats and play six or seven innings in the field.
