Royals right-hander Chris Young took the mound when play resumed at 9:15 p.m. ET after a 48-minute rain delay, ending Ventura's night at 42 pitches and seemingly making him available for a potential Game 4 start in Houston on Monday.
Astros sparkplug Jose Altuve lined the second pitch of the game into left field, and he kept the pressure on Ventura long enough for George Springer to draw a walk, bringing rookie phenom Carlos Correa to the plate. Correa singled on a 2-2 pitch to right to load the bases, setting up consecutive run-scoring groundouts off the bats of Colby Rasmus and Evan Gattis.
