ARLINGTON -- Astros second baseman Jose Altuve left Monday's game against the Rangers in the seventh inning after he was hit on the left forearm by a pitch thrown by right-hander Jose Leclerc.
After undergoing X-rays at Globe Life Park, Altuve was deemed day to day with a left forearm contusion. He didn't appear to be in much pain, but he was replaced by pinch-runner Tony Kemp with Houston holding an 11-2 lead.
The five-time All-Star singled in the first inning for his 199th hit of the season, putting him one shy of reaching 200 for the fourth year in a row.
