The Texas Rangers gave the Houston Astros the boot last night with a 7-5 win over the beleaguered, last place Houston team, giving Texas their eighth straight home win over Houston. It took 11, but the Oakland A’s kept pace with Texas, with a 3-2 win over the Yankees. The Los Angeles Angels had their wings clipped, getting shutout by the White Sox and the Seattle Mariners were scalped by the Indians in Cleveland. Only three games separate the last place Astros with the first place Rangers.
