Astros manager A.J. Hinch said the team has “one shot” to get outfielder Carlos Gomez back and healthy from an intercostal strain.
“We probably have one shot to get him up and running again,” he said in an interview with MLB Radio on Wednesday. “It’s an unfortunate loss for us.”
Gomez strained his left intercostal muscle on Sunday against the Angels. He returned to Houston for an MRI, which showed a mild strain.
Hinch said on Tuesday that the soonest Gomez would be available would be when the team returns to Houston this weekend.
