Kyle Serrano, the son of Dave Serrano - who resigned as the head coach of Tennessee in the last week of the season - had Tommy John Surgery after sustaining an elbow injury in his first start of the 2016 season. As a result, Serrano appeared in 9.2IP (nine games) for the 2017 Volunteers with a 3.72 ERA in 2017, with his season cut short in April because of "unspecified health reasons.
