Monday was weird. The Twins scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The Astros started a comeback in the eighth inning and there was a 10-plus minute rain delay that could have possibly killed the Astros momentum, but it didn’t.
The Astros scored 11 runs in the eighth inning and three runs in the ninth inning to throttle the Twins 16-8. The Astros needed only to get into the Twins bullpen after Ervin Santana allowed just two runs over seven innings.
In the eighth inning, Houston sent 14 batters to the plate.
