Justin Webster’s pinpoint shooting last week in the University of Hawai’i’s two victories over Cal Poly earned him the Big West Conference Player of the Week award. He is the first Rainbow Warrior to receive the award this season.
Webster, a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard, averaged 19.0 points and was in near-perfect shooting form while leading the Warriors to consecutive double-digit wins over the Mustangs. He shot 13 for 15 (86.7 percent) overall from the field, 8 for 9 (88.9 percent) from 3-point range, and 4 for 4 (100 percent) on free throws. He also grabbed nine rebounds and had two assists in the two games.
