The University of Hawai’i basketball team shot its way to the top of the Big West Conference with a resounding 74-52 victory over UC Irvine on Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
A raucous crowd of 8,578 (9,826 tickets issued) watched the Warriors tie a school record with 14 3-pointers en route to taking over sole possession of first place in the Big West.
Hawai’i improved to 19-3 overall and 8-1 in the conference; UC Irvine dropped to 18-7 and 7-2. The teams will meet again in Irvine, Calif., on February 20.
Roderick Bobbitt had 23 points, seven assists and six rebounds to lead the Warriors.
