Eddie Stansberry scored 15 points to lead the University of Hawai’i basketball team to a 58-41 victory over Hawai’i Pacific on Sunday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Warriors improved to 6-2 with their third consecutive victory. It was an exhibition game for the NCAA Division II Sharks, and the final result and statistics will not count for them.
It will count for the Warriors, who also got nine points, five assists and five rebounds from Drew Buggs, and eight points each from Samuta Avea and Dawson Carper.
Buggs scored on UH’s opening possession for a 2-0 lead, but the Warriors then missed their next eight consecutive shots and fell behind 6-2.
