Eddie Stansberry scored a career-high 28 points to lead the University of Hawai’i to a 83-75 victory over Portland State on Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Stansberry, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, made his first six 3-point attempts of the game, and finished 6 of 7 from 3-point range, 8 of 15 overall, and 6 for 6 on free throws.
The Rainbow Warriors improved to 3-1, while the Vikings dropped to 1-2.
Three other Hawai’i players scored in double-figures: Drew Buggs with 13, Samuta Avea with 12, and Zigmars Raimo with 10. Raimo also led the Warriors with 14 rebounds and seven assists.
