Quentin Torres-Costa didn’t just bridge the gap. He finished the job.
The Waiakea graduate got the final six outs Friday night in his second save, and the University of Hawaii beat Cal State Northridge 1-0 in Honolulu.
LJ Brewster (5-3) struck out five and allowed only three hits and a walk.
UH (13-23, 4-6 Big West), which stopped a four-game slide, scored its run in the first on a wild pitch after Stephen Ventimilia led off with a single and two walks loaded the bases.
Torres-Costa struck out three and allowed a hit.
