Daniel Kniseley not only beat the rest of the field last Saturday at Hapuna Beach, he also conquered Father Time.
Kniseley — a 54-year-old retired lifeguard who moved to the Big Island from Florida late last year — is now two-thirds of the way to the Triple Crown after winning the Hapuna Rough Water swim in 21 minutes, 13.9 seconds.
If Kniseley had a vote for this honor, he would have given to the swimmer he edged out, Madeline Foo, who finished in 21:14.8.
“She excels academically, awesome family, great work ethic … making her a top athlete!
