Beon Jay Riley, a 6-foot-6 guard from Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego, Calif., announced his commitment to sign with the University of Hawaii’i basketball team. Riley, who made his announcement via social media, is in his senior year at Cathedral Catholic, and is expected to sign a National Letter of Intent later this month.
He will be a college freshman during the 2020-21 season. He averaged around 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game as a high school sophomore at Mater Dei Catholic High in Chula Vista, Calif., during the 2017-18 season. He transferred to Cathedral Catholic prior to the 2018-19 season, and sat out the basketball season due to transfer rules.
