Sheriff Drammeh had another productive game for Sweden in the FIBA U20 European Championship, but it was Zigmars Raimo and his Latvia team that prevailed in a game pitting two University of Hawai’i players on Wednesday.
Latvia defeated Sweden, 66-53, in a round of 16 playoff game for the tournament at Helsinki, Finland.
Drammeh, who will be a sophomore guard for Hawai’i in 2016-17, had team-highs of 15 points and seven rebounds in the loss for Sweden. He is averaging team-bests of 19.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in the tournament.
Raimo, an incoming freshman recruit for the Warriors, did not score but grabbed three rebounds in a reserve role for Latvia.
