Kamaka Hepa, a 6-foot-9 forward who was ranked as one of the nation’s top high school basketball prospects in 2017-18, will be transferring to the University of Hawai’i.
Hepa, who recently completed his junior season at Texas, announced his commitment to transfer to the Rainbow Warriors through his social media accounts.
He lists his hometown as Barrow, Alaska, and lists his ethnicity as a combination of Hawaiian, Filipino, Inupiat (Eskimo) and Caucasian.
He received limited minutes during his three seasons at Texas, and entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after the 2020-21 season. He averaged 2.
