A University of Hawai’i basketball team that took top honors in the final standings of the Big West Conference was justifiably rewarded with several top honors in the Big West Conference Awards, announced on Monday morning.
Most notable, junior forward/center Stefan Jankovic was named the Big West Conference Player of the Year, and Eran Ganot was named the Big West Conference Coach of the Year.
Jankovic is now just the second player in UH basketball history to receive a conference Player of the Year award. Anthony Carter was the first, earning the Western Athletic Conference Pacific Division Player of the Year award in 1997.
