Five minutes of extra basketball proved to be five minutes too many for the short-handed University of Hawai’i basketball team in an 88-80 overtime loss at CSUN on Saturday.
The Warriors appeared to be in control for almost the entire 40-minute regulation before fading late in the Big West Conference game played at The Matadome in Northridge, Calif.
Hawai’i led by as many as 23 points in the first half, and then 15 points in the second half, but got out-scored 13-5 in overtime.
The Warriors dropped to 8-8 overall and 6-8 in the Big West.
