It’s a pretty big moment for Hilo golfer Britney Yada this week.

Her parents, Harry and Betty, took a flight from Honolulu to New York on Monday and planned to fly down to north Florida on Tuesday, then make a week out of it.

One way or another, none of them will likely forget the story about to unfold for her at the LPGA International, built for the Ladies Professional Golf Association about a mile from its headquarters in Daytona Beach.

It’s Qualifying School for the LPGA, the final tournament, spread over five rounds, that will award the top 20 finishers — ties at 20 will force a playoff — Category 12 memberships, which is an invitation to most all LPGA tournaments next year.
