BIIF soccer: Hawaii Prep shuts out Waiakea to keep cruising

Coming off its first HHSAA Division II boys soccer championship and returning its core, Hawaii Prep figured to be good.

But this good?

Waiakea was the latest victim Tuesday in Waimea, as Toby Balaam collected a natural hat trick to help Ka Makani roll to a familiar 5-0 victory.

“They are really good,” Warriors coach David Urakami said. “I wish we could play them every week so we could get better.”

The BIIF schedule is set up in three tiers, but so far HPA (6-0) is in a tier by itself, outscoring the opposition 29-3.
