Good statement for Hawaii AJA
The Hawaii AJA All-Stars rallied their way to reach the championship game of the 82nd annual state tournament before losing to Oahu.
On April 8 at Hans L’Orange Field in Waipahu, Oahu, the Big Islanders scored four runs in the ninth inning to edge Maui 9-8.
In the ninth, Aaron Nishiura, Shannon Camero, Ridge Hoopii-Haslam, Ryder Oshiro, Jordan Jinbo and Devin Iwahashi had key hits, with Iwahashi driving in Jinbo with the eventual winning run from second base.
In the bottom of the ninth, Cortney Arruda retired Maui in order with two strikeouts to earn the win.
