The Green Bay Packers let receiver, special teams ace, outdoorsman and cult hero Jeff Janis walk as a free agent this year. Maybe to the surprise of some, but certainly not me.
Janis signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Cleveland Browns. He will not be collecting that money.
The Browns released Janis on Friday.
Janis caught just three passes for 47 yards this preseason. Apparently, his special teams acumen wasn’t enough to keep him in Cleveland like it did so many years in Green Bay.
Get out there and sign him Packers! That’s surely what some of you are saying, but it’s not going to happen.
