Young, recovering cancer patient turns love of Broncos, Packers into hospital TV show (Shutdown Corner)

Daniel Hailpern spent nine months at Children's Hospital Colorado as he underwent treatment for leukemia, which included a bone marrow transplant.

But even as he dealt with the ups and downs of his health, Hailpern was in the hospital's television studio once a week for "The DPR Show", entertaining the other children like him, who craved a sense of normalcy as they dealt with difficult circumstances no child should have to endure.

Halpern and his show are detailed in this heartwarming story by ESPN's Jeff Legwold.

Now 15, Hailpern is out of the hospital and back in school, but is still at CHC once a week for his show, offering his opinion with Mark Haas, a Denver sports reporter, and Chris Coleman, manager of broadcast and production for the hospital.
