Will Brian Gutekunst’s redshirt program yield any results this year?

After trading edge rusher Preston Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst explained that part of his reasoning behind the move was to get young players more experience.

The young player that immediately comes to mind is 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness, who’s been, at best, part-time player through his first season and a half in the NFL. But Gutekunst wasn’t thinking of Van Ness specifically, nor was he thinking about third-year edge Kingsley Enagbare. Instead, Gutekunst said he was looking to get more opportunities for Arron Mosby and Brenton Cox, saying they’ve both earned more opportunities.
