GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr has undergone a second round of stem cell treatments in Mexico as he works toward returning to Green Bay for the Packers' Thanksgiving Day game.
Starr has been having the experimental treatments in Tijuana after suffering a heart attack and two strokes last year. USA Today (http://pck.rs/1H0oKB9 ) reports the latest treatment involved inserting neural stem cells through Starr's spine.
His wife, Cherry Starr, says it's too early to see how the treatment might have worked.
The 81-year-old Starr hopes to return Nov. 26 to Lambeau Field where he played for the Packers from 1956 to 1971.
