There are many reasons the mainstream media outlets are ranking the Green Bay Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers, as the favorites to win Super Bowl 50.
It’s not because they are destined to win the 50th anniversary game, given that they won the first two “Super Bowls” back in the late 1960s.
That has nothing to do with it.
They point to the fact that Green Bay came so close last year – three minutes or so from winning the Championship Game – and the fact that had Brandon Bostick not tried to field that onside kick that it would have been Aaron Rodgers and the Packers versus Tom Brady and the Patriots – a team the Packers had beaten during the regular season.
