Earlier in the offseason, I took a trip down memory lane and highlighted the career of former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Antonio Freeman, a player that may have got lost in the shuffle in terms of how fans viewed his career performance in the hierarchy of all-time franchise wide receivers, given the players that succeeded him. Wide receiver Sterling Sharpe is not only a player that my generation (I’m 31) may not respect enough, but he is a player that Canton does not respect enough. Why has Sharpe not been given a gold jacket yet?
The easiest answer is because of his longevity in the NFL, or lack thereof.
