Reggie Gilbert latched onto the 53-man roster out of training camp in 2018 after starting his first two seasons on the team’s practice squad. (He was activated for the last game of the 2017 and made an impression posting one sack in his lone appearance.)
Entering the season as the team’s fourth outside linebacker, Gilbert broke up two passes, forced one fumble, and posted 2.5 sacks. He also had 38 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, and eight quarterback hits in 16 games.
At 6-3, 261lbs, Gilbert fits the profile of an outside rusher in coordinator Mike Pettine’s defense.
