Back in May 2018, the Supreme Court ruled that the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act violated the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The abolishing of this Act did not automatically mean sports betting became legal across the United States. However, it did mean each individual state now had the right to pass statutes and legalize sports gambling within their state boundaries.
It was a huge moment for both sports betting fans and betting companies in the United States. New Jersey, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania were among the regions to act quickly and move to legalize online betting within their respective states.
