When general manager Brian Gutekunst drafted edge rusher Rashan Gary with the 12th overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft, the pick did not inspire a lot of confidence among the Packer faithful, if for no other reason than it did not immediately address a need. After all, the team signed edge rushers Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith to lucrative deals during free agency months before. However, four years later, the pick should inspire a lot more confidence. Gary, who will turn 26 in December, is on the final year of his rookie contract after the team picked up his fifth-year option a season ago.
