Wednesday Cheese Curds: Matt LaFleur speaks at NFL Annual Meeting

This season, Matt LaFleur will tie Mike Holmgren as the fourth longest-tenured coach in Packers history. The only three ahead of him still occupy significant portions of real estate in Green Bay: Curly Lambeau, Vince Lombardi, and Mike McCarthy all made their marks on the Packers in indelible ways.

Holmgren, of course, left Green Bay after his seventh season, but there’s no indication LaFleur will make a similar exit. That will leave him in the unenviable position of being the longest-tenured Packers coach not to win a title.

LaFleur’s unfortunate legacy to this point is one of coming up short.
