The Packers still haven’t figured out their backup quarterback situation. Not that things were really going to change in season; Ryan Tannehill was probably never walking through that door, and the list of quarterbacks capable of coming in and immediately improving the Packers’ quarterback room on short notice is essentially zero names long. Sure, some of the available guys are probably better than others, but the time for meaningful change or finding worthy prospects was months ago, not today.
That’s not to say the Packers shouldn’t keep trying. Malik Willis, or whoever comes after him, is just the latest in what should be a long, ongoing process.
