Taken as a whole, the Packers’ recent trade-deadline history is kind of weird.
Two years ago (just two years!) they were willing to pony up a first round pick for D.J. Moore or a second round pick for Chase Claypool as they looked for more weapons to aid a flailing offense. A year ago, they jettisoned Rasul Douglas for a third amid a free fall in the first half of the season, only to see the team rally and end the season (and spend the 2024 season) looking for help in the secondary. Then this year, they sent Preston Smith packing for a seventh round pick despite a thin edge rusher group and a relatively weak performance across the board.
