Green Bay — Mike Pennel might very well be the most improved player that the Green Bay Packers have on defense.
He's also made more plays against the run than any of the nine remaining defensive linemen while proving his game is suitable for defensive end as well as nose tackle in the 3-4.
How success in the exhibition season and training camp will translate into playing time in the regular season for Pennel is difficult to gauge.
"He's still really developing," said Mike Trgovac, the defensive line coach since 2009. "He's not nearly close to being an every-down guy yet.
