Two-way player Bob Forte served in two wars

In April 1943, the Green Bay Packers selected Bob Forte in the 11th round with the 98th overall pick of the National Football League draft.

Forte was a versatile halfback and defensive back from the University of Arkansas, who earned seven varsity letters in three sports: three in football, three in baseball, and one in basketball.

The 6-foot, 199-pound Forte was a standout on the Razorbacks' football team that went 3-7 overall and 0-6 in the Southwest Conference (now the SEC) in 1942. He earned all-conference honors and was invited to the College All-Star Game in Chicago.
