The Packers open their minicamp today, starting the final portion of their offseason program before training camp in July.
Position battles are always a hot storyline at minicamp and throughout the summer, but the Packers are in the fairly unique position of having very few battles of consequence. To be sure, they’ve got to get things sorted at kicker, but outside of that, things mostly seem to be about sifting through a series of good options rather than a true one-on-one battle.
The Packers’ offensive line might be the best example of that phenomenon. True to Matt LaFleur’s mantra about getting the Packers’ best five linemen on the field, the Packers’ biggest question this summer is what configuration of good options to roll out in Week 1.
