With the Green Bay Packers officially eliminated from playoff contention, the offseason starts now despite two games remaining on the schedule.
Priority one for the Packers will be finding a new head coach. The widely held assumption is that the team is in the market for an offensive-minded head coach to help Aaron Rodgers and company get out of the doldrums.
If this is indeed the path Green Bay goes down, the next coach should almost immediately offer to retain defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
Despite suffering a ton of injuries including the two best defensive lineman in Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark, Pettine’s unit has remained respectable despite the team’s poor record.
