The Packers’ winning streak wasn’t going to last forever, but it’s disappointing to see it end the way it did on Monday night.
Not only did the Packers lose to the Giants, a team they were heavily favored to beat, but they did it by taking a step back in just about every area. Jordan Love returned to earth. The receiving corps failed to make plays downfield. The defense, recently responsible for shutting down Justin Herbert, Jared Goff, and Patrick Mahomes, found itself hapless before the Italian might of Tommy DeVito.
There may be a temptation to dismiss this loss as a “burn the tape” game, but I think that’s a mistake.
