There are a few career-defining seasons underway in Packers’ training camp, but none are higher stakes than Josh Jacobs.
It’s not that Jacobs hasn’t already had a solid career; he has. Leading the league in rushing is no mean feat, and even when he wasn’t topping the league’s rushing charts, he was a key cog in the Raiders’ attack, churning out multiple thousand-yard seasons.
But contracts aren’t about what you’ve done — they’re about what you’re going to do next. Jacobs wanted long-term security in Las Vegas, and the Raiders weren’t willing to oblige, betting Jacobs will fall victim to the typical running back aging curve.
