The Green Bay Packers have added another cornerback. They claimed Deante Burton, who was waived by the Atlanta Falcons. To give him a roster spot, the Packers sent returner Trevor Davis to injured reserve.
Unlike most guys they’ve sent to IR, it appears the Packers won’t release Davis with an injury settlement. He’ll join receiver Jake Kumerow as a player the Packers can use their designated to return card on after eight weeks.
Davis played in only the final preseason game for the Packers because of a hamstring injury. He did not play in week 1 of the regular season.
