As the Packers headed to the practice field for the first day of training camp yesterday, plenty of new faces could be seen among the players and coaching staff. Among General Manager Brian Gutekunst’s free agent acquisitions this past offseason, none may be as important as bringing back savvy veteran Tramon Williams to join the group of young and hopeful cornerbacks. And while not necessarily a new face around the team, bringing back Williams could pay big dividends both on the field of play and as a mentor to the young defensive backs.
Following the team’s first practice yesterday, Williams spoke to his role as a leader on the defense.
