GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Ted Thompson’s decision to trade back on the opening night of the 2017 NFL Draft -- and out of the first round -- wasn’t the first time the Green Bay Packers general manager looked at his draft board, saw multiple players he liked, and determined it was worth gaining an extra pick to let a couple of those highly regarded players go elsewhere.
