The Green Bay Packers' addition of free-agent defensive tackle Quinton Dial necessitated a roster move in order to comply with NFL rules. Shortly after the news of Dial's signings first surfaced, a report from the Green Bay Press-Gazette's Ryan Wood indicates that the team plans to release Christian Ringo to open up a roster spot.
Ringo, a former sixth-round, has spent his entire NFL career in Green Bay whether on the practice squad or active roster. He made the initial cut coming out of the preseason, but the arrival of Dial, a fellow defensive lineman, put Ringo's spot in jeopardy.
