For Green Bay Packers punter Tim Masthay, 2014 was an unsual year.
Maybe his performance was a result of the fact that the entire special teams program in Green Bay took a turn south. Maybe in was because he just didn’t get a lot of work; the offense, at times, was just too good. In fact, there were two games in 2014 where Masthay didn’t have a single punt.
For the team, that’s a good thing. For a punter who needs repetitions on the field to be effective, it’s not so good.
