Thursday Cheese Curds: Packers banking on late season improvement continuing for special teams

Despite a new coordinator last season, special teams once again was an achilles heel. The Packers were on pace for a good chunk of the season to finish with negative punt return yardage until a savior named Tyler Ervin came along. Punter JK Scott started the season off strong before fading into the inconsistency that has marred his professional career so far.

What Green Bay did have going for them was Mason Crosby who had a career year (22-24 on field goals and 40-41 on extra points) and was re-signed very quickly before free agency was even close to starting.
