The DK Metcalf trade might move very quickly. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Seattle Seahawks have already “acknowledged” the receiver’s trade request, which was made public about an hour ago, and have “essentially said you are allowed to explore it.”
With only a couple of days left before the “legal tampering window” in NFL free agency opens up, Metcalf and the Seahawks will have to find a suitor — quickly — before cap space starts to dry up. As far as whether this is just a contract ploy or if Metcalf is planning on leaving Seattle, Rapoport reiterated that both sides are now searching for offers and stated, “Usually that means a player is getting traded.
